Development Blog - December/January

The Christmas Season is upon us and this will mark the 4th year CopperState Roleplay has been independently operating. We thank everyone for their support and continuing to play with us while our small development team continues to bring you guys quality material and content to play with. 

We are here to discuss the future/current progress behind the scenes of the Development Team.

License Plates
- The Current license plate system in service was good enough for what we had to do but since the addition of Vehicle Persistence our Police Officers have seen quite the drawbacks to this system. Sometimes the APR will flag a license plate by a local vehicle as “Stolen” since the AI will use a random plate generation system and sometimes the persisted plates will re-appear confusing police. 
- Currently in progress is a new system for License Plates which will ensure that persisted vehicle plates will no longer show up on spawning local vehicles in the world. We are also looking to add a more variety of plates out there including custom plate textures and different vanity plates.  
- The Current timeline for this system is to be released between December 20th - January 1st as this new feature is tested and ready to hit the live server.
 

Drug System Overhaul
- With the introduction to farming last month alot of new features are able to be introduced to the live server. The first of which being a new drug system to steer away from third party scripts and keep our own custom content.
- Planned Systems for Rework: Weed, Cocaine, Heroin.
- Weed: Currently being worked on we took a long look at the current system and noticed that its way too familiar in a FiveM aspect of how the drug is Harvested, Processed and sold. So we have decided that the first system to be reworked is the weed system. 
- The new weed system will feature custom planting options such as; Planting in the open world or using Potted Variations for use in your own super secret drug empire base. We have removed the Weed Lab off of Alta Street as the need for players to sit inside a locked building for hours processing their drugs isnt what we want and the repetitiveness of this process gets boring after a while. 
- Business that have a valid Marijuana license like the UWU Cafe will be able to purchase the seeds from the dispensary on the Beach. Businesses will be limited to 10 seed purchases per ingame day. If this feature is abused we will remove it. 
- All weed will now be processed by the player, wherever, whenever they want. New items introduced with this will be the “Brick Press”, “Resin Machine”, “Drying Rack”. The New Weed Variations will have their own items, “Large Brick”, “Small Brick”, “Resin”, “Weed Bud”, “Leaf”, “Harvested Plant”, “Dried Harvested Plant”, “Baggie”, “Ground Up”. The player will be able to locate or craft the machines in order to process the weed however they like. These machines can be placed down out doors or inside your MLO/House using our new placement system. I'll leave you guys with some GIF images of the current progress as there is still a ways to go. One more hint is that we have planned for 15 different variations of the weed plants and mutating strains for different effects. ;)

 

Farming
- Its been about a month since the farming script was released to the server and after looking over the leader boards you guys are doing pretty well. 2 weeks ago we released Apple Trees at level 30. We would like some feedback on the system via our discord if you can so we can make the current script better.
- Coming soon to farming will be the Garden Pack v1 and v2, Once you unlock level 30 and level 60 Farming these two packs will be available to the players. The packs can be purchased at the Farming Store in Grapeseed for 3,000 and 5,000$ which will include unlockable items for our Housing Script that can be placed inside/outside of your property. 
- At this time there are no more planned props to be added to the script as we are working with our prop developers on new plants. So stay tuned coming February for news on new plantables :)

Skilling Script
- The skilling script is the backbone of what makes us different from your normal FiveM Server. When i originally wrote the script i wanted a fun way for players to spend their time grinding away and make it worth something. Instead of Grinding for items, money i wanted a way that players could reach a personal goal but at the same time not interrupt the roleplay environment. From there i was able to produce the Farming Script which allowed players and business to grow their own fruits/Vegetables to use them towards their business and Cooking Food for personal use. I tried by best to incorporate an RP aspect as well as the EXP System.
- EXP Leaderboards were then added as a non-rp way for players to compete in their respective skills. The idea with this was for our players to show their progress as they spend hours and lots of money grinding away without disrupting the RolePlay Aspect. This idea came to me while i was Farming in RuneScape of all things and i wanted it to work in a FiveM environment. 
- Coming soon will be Achievements where players can further their skilling career and claim items/cash upon other things as well as try and unlock every single one added. More information on this will come soon but ill leave a screenshot below for you guys.
- Also if you guys have feedback on the Skilling UI itself please let us know in the discord if there are more ways to incorporate it into an RP Aspect.
- Prizes you see in the screenshot will not reflect what is added to the server as this was just for testing. 
 

 

New Jobs/Activities
- Future plans for new Civilian Jobs and some Illegal stuff are floating around.
- Street Racing, New Diving Methods Salvage/Leisure, Garbage Job Overhaul, Construction and more
- Plans for these will be coming soon as we are working on overhauling our current features. so stay tuned.

Remember we are a “small” and i mean two man show here so updates might not come as fast as we like since we do have real life things to attend day to day.
